Math Stations (Week of February 27th)

We sorted, counted, and recorded items from inventory bags.

We played Collect 20 Together. The students did a fantastic job
asking each other, "How many do we have and how many do we need?"

We used goldfish as counters to solve our Cat in the Hat addition problems.

Labeling our Thinking!

Here are some examples of how we labeled our thinking after reading nonfiction texts.  Taking time to think about what we've read is a vital comprehension skill to help us make connections to new learning!

We labeled new learning with an "L", "W" stands for "Wow!  That's interesting!", and a "?" means we still have more questions about what we've just read.  We also talked about places to find more information about a topic that interests them.  (The library, a book, an expert, the internet with a parent, etc...)  The students have become experts about sharing their thinking with others!

Math Stations (February 21-24)
